Rebecca Halick
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than a decade of clinical experience. I absolutely love working with individuals, couples, and families find healing, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My background spans a wide range of settings, including substance use treatment programs, mental health clinics, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and couple and sex therapy.
Since beginning my practice in 2011, I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, life transitions, and issues related to identity and sexuality. My experience also includes providing LGBTQ+ affirming care, couples counseling, and sex therapy in a welcoming, inclusive environment where every client is treated with dignity and respect. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is built on trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore the challenges that have brought you to therapy.
First session
The first session is an opportunity to see if we will be a good fit. You will be asked several questions regarding what brought you to therapy, your history, and goals. I want an understanding of who you are and where you want to be.
Strengths
I do not take a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment, as I believe every individual’s experiences and needs are unique. I work collaboratively with clients to address negative thinking, identify and shift unhelpful patterns, and empower them to create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
Ideal clients
I am only able to serve people who are open about what they need. Building a therapeutic relationship and developing trust is the primary goal. I strongly believe in autonomy and self-determination, however I do not remain silent in session when a client reports maladaptive thoughts or behaviors. I challenge people to grow and move through discomfort with support and encouragement.
Treatment methods
Integrative
Every person is unique and requires an individualized treatment plan. I believe in creating and utilizing a variety of methods to meet the needs of person in front of me including CBT, DBT, Solutions Focused, mindfulness, and hypnotherapy.
