New to Grow
I’m a down-to-earth therapist who believes therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what’s really going on. I’m warm and easy to talk to, but I’m also not afraid to challenge you when I think it could help. My goal is to understand you as a whole person and help you make sense of what you’re experiencing while figuring out what comes next.
Our first session is really about getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about what’s been going on, what you’ve been dealing with, and what you would like to be different. You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what you need or have everything figured out. We can start wherever you are and figure it out together.
I think one of my biggest strengths is being able to meet people where they are without judging them for how they got there. I’m a good listener, but I’m also willing to ask the uncomfortable questions and challenge you when necessary. I don’t believe therapy is just about talking about your problems. I want us to understand the patterns behind them and figure out what you can actually do differently. I’m flexible in my approach because I don’t believe therapy should feel like following a script. Sometimes you need to process. Sometimes you need perspective. Sometimes you need someone to tell you the truth in a way that still feels supportive. I’m comfortable doing all three.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to be honest with themselves and willing to look a little deeper. You may be dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, major life changes, low self-esteem, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of what comes next. You don’t have to come to therapy with everything figured out. You may just know that something isn’t working anymore and you want to understand why. I work well with clients who want a therapist who will genuinely listen, meet them where they are, and also challenge them when it’s needed. If you’re looking for a space where you can be completely honest without judgment while also doing the work to create meaningful change, we may be a good fit.
I use ACT to help clients make room for difficult thoughts and emotions while focusing on what matters most. We work on recognizing unhelpful patterns and taking meaningful steps toward the life you want.
I use positive psychology to help clients recognize their strengths, build on what is already working, and create a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. We focus not only on what needs to change, but also on what you want to grow.
I use CBT to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We work together to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and develop practical ways to respond differently.
I use motivational interviewing to help clients explore what they want, understand what may be holding them back, and work through ambivalence about making changes. We focus on your goals and what motivates you to move forward.
