Therapy for Women Ready to Reclaim Confidence, Calm, and Self‑Worth. Hello there! I am Alexis Ford, a Florida native, and Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, providing evidence‐based treatment for women experiencing anxiety, low self‐esteem, and challenges related to life transitions, women issues or postpartum adjustment. Life can feel heavy, even when you’re doing everything you can to hold it together. You may look strong on the outside while quietly battling anxiety, self‑doubt, or the pressure to show up for everyone. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by constant worry, navigating a major life transition, or adjusting to motherhood. If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. You deserve support and a space to breathe.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a pivotal moment for both the client and therapist. During our initial session, we'll explore what brings you to therapy and choose strategies that fit you best. We'll focus on understanding emotions, challenging patterns, and strengthening long-term well-being. Clients can expect an empowering therapeutic experience, promoting both insight and actionable steps toward self-discovery, healing, personal growth, and positive change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Practicing from a Client-Centered approach, I prioritize the needs, experiences and perspectives of the client. Having worked in various clinical settings with various populations, I’ve developed the unique skill of being creative and flexible in my approach. I utilize CBT, ACT, trauma‐focused, and emotion‐based approaches to help you understand patterns, regulate emotions, and build lasting mental stability.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This method is used to help clients identify and challenge distorted thinking patterns, fostering healthier behaviors and emotional responses. In my practice, I integrate CBT techniques like cognitive restructuring and behavioral experiments to empower clients to develop practical skills for managing anxiety and improving self-esteem.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. In my practice, I emphasize empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness to help clients achieve personal growth and self-acceptance.

Gottman method

As a mental health clinician trained in Level 1 Gottman Method, I utilize research-based interventions to strengthen couples' relationships by enhancing communication and managing conflict. In my practice, I apply techniques like the Love Maps and the Four Horsemen framework to help couples build a deeper emotional connection and navigate challenges more effectively.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This method helps clients build psychological flexibility by learning to make space for difficult thoughts and emotions rather than fighting them. In my practice, I use ACT strategies like mindfulness, values clarification, and committed action to support clients in responding to anxiety with intention and aligning their choices with what matters most to them.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma‑Informed Care centers safety, empowerment, and choice by recognizing how past experiences shape present emotions and behaviors. In my practice, I approach each client with compassion and curiosity, integrating principles like grounding, collaboration, and nervous‑system awareness to help individuals build resilience, restore a sense of control, and move through healing at a pace that feels safe for them.

Alexis is the best. With her I've grown in areas that I have really struggled with in life. I've been encouraged through our sessions and the way she puts things into perspective have been very helpful when I've had to face challenges I needed guidance on. I am grateful and appreciative for my time with her. I 100% percent recommend her.
