I am Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of professional work experience. I congratulate you on starting your journey and I’m here to make sure that it is meaningful to you. I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with you as an empathetic partner. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to be calm and patient.
The first session is about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable. I'd like to start by learning about your experiences and how you've grown into the person you are today, what challenges you're currently facing, and what you've already overcome. We’ll do a full background and intake so I can understand what’s bringing you in, what you’ve been dealing with, and what you want support with. If you’re feeling nervous, that’s normal—I make it conversational and less tense, and we move towards your goals.
My strength is partnering with individuals in my specialty areas to help them take control of their lives and behaviors through the use of techniques that with improve their qualities of lifelong term. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. Based on your unique needs, I may adapt my approach to include practices like mindfulness and meditation. Your goals and progress are my primary focus. Together, we’ll identify challenges and work on strategies to help you move forward.
My main passion is to help everyone to become the best version of themselves. I work with clients to enable themselves to begin the challenging work of self-discovery, growth potential and change through my clinical skills in my therapeutic approach which include CBT, DBT, TFCBT.
