About me

Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I come to you with 17 years of experience, and a keen interest to continue my education and interventions to help you in the way that works best for you. One size does not fit all, and I aim to meet you where you are at, with a lot of options to choose from to get you back to (or align you for the first time) your overall wellness. I am kind, gentle, warm, direct and openminded.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I know that reaching out is a courageous step that may feel scary and/or anxiety producing., and I honor your bravery. Our first session together encompasses the challenges you are facing, what brought you to therapy now, and offers you a chance to get to know me. and see if you feel like we are a good match. I always offer tools and techniques in the first session, so you are encouraged and have real-time options to feel better. Your first session is a chance to slow down and freely talk about what’s been weighing on you. You do not ned to divulge anything you are not yet comfortable sharing, nor do you need to come in with the perfect explanation or know exactly what you want to accomplish in therapy. We’ll start wherever you are. You can expect our first session to feel conversational, supportive, and collaborative. We’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, what you’ve been struggling with, what you’ve tried so far, and what you would like help with. Most importantly, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of where we can begin. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, we may start by making sense of what feels most urgent. Sometimes the first step isn’t having all the answers. It’s finally having a place to put everything you’ve been carrying down with a safe person to companion you on your journey to overall well-being.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

1. Extensive Clinical Wisdom & Versatility With 17 years of experience, I bring deep clinical insight that can only be built over almost two decades of practice. I have successfully navigated complex clinical caseloads, crisis interventions, and diverse population needs across school systems and private practice. I am Certified in Grief, Loss and Life Transitions, Counseling Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Persons, and Positive Discipline Parent and Teacher Education. 2. Identity-Affirming & Inclusive Advocacy I bring a strong foundation in LGBTQ+ advocacy and specialized care for women, men, transgender, non-binary, and gender-fluid individuals. My clients can expect a deeply validating environment where identity is honored, and they don't have to spend energy "educating" me on basic cultural or gender realities. 3. Multi-Systemic Expertise (Youth to Elders) I have a unique combination of a Master of School Counseling and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, which gives me a rare dual lens and a lot of flexibility. I understand the psychological frameworks of individual development, but also understand systemic environments—such as helping adolescents transitioning into middle school/high school while navigating friend groups and parent relationships, helping adults navigate corporate burnout and work/life balance,, and supporting those suffering from grief related to life transitions such as losing a job, partner or divorce. 4. Evidence-Based, Solution-Focused Frameworks I blend deep empathy with structured, proven clinical modalities. I have expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems(IFS) , Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy that ensures clients don't just "talk about problems"—they walk away with practical coping strategies, cognitive restructuring tools, and measurable milestones. 5. A Digitally-Seamless Telehealth Practice I am an expert in the virtual space, as I provide remote psychotherapy, and have since 2020. Clients will get a smooth, professional, and secure digital experience. I understand how to build rapid rapport in a virtual environment so that therapy feels deeply personal, connected, and safe despite being behind a screen.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop more helpful ways of thinking and responding. The goal is to give you practical tools you can use in your everyday life.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT) I use a trauma-informed approach to create a safe, supportive space where you feel respected and in control of your healing process. We move at your pace, with a focus on understanding how past experiences may be affecting you now and building skills to help you feel more grounded and secure.. Addresses the multiple domains of trauma impact, including but not limited to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, externalizing behavior problems, relationship and attachment problems, school problems, and cognitive problems. TF-CBT includes skills for regulating emotions, behavior, thoughts, and relationships, trauma processing, and enhancing safety, trust, parenting skills, and family communication.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In our work together, I use a solution-focused approach to highlight your strengths and the progress you may already be making. We’ll focus on what you want your life to look like and take small, meaningful steps to get there. I aim to keep our work forward-moving, practical, and empowering..

Attachment-based

I use an attachment-based approach to help you understand how your early relationships may be shaping how you connect with others today. Together, we’ll explore patterns in your relationships and work toward building a greater sense of safety, trust, and connection..

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Treatment focuses on increasing emotional stability, reducing maladaptive behaviors, and enhancing overall functioning through structured, skills-based interventions..
