First session

During our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another and understanding what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you hope to gain, identify your goals, and begin exploring what support may be most helpful. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and with a clear sense of how we can move forward together.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I bring warmth, humor, compassion, and cultural awareness into the therapy room while also being honest and willing to challenge clients when needed. I focus on building genuine relationships and helping clients recognize their strengths, gain new perspectives, and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, break unhealthy patterns, and create meaningful change in their life. I enjoy working with individuals navigating trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and self-esteem concerns. I especially value working with clients from diverse backgrounds who are looking for a space where their culture, identity, and lived experiences are understood and respected.

Treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I use culturally responsive therapy by recognizing that culture, identity, family, community, and lived experiences all shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us. I work to understand each client within their unique cultural context while creating space to explore how experiences such as racism, discrimination, and systemic barriers may impact their mental health and well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they impact daily life, and develop practical strategies to create healthier ways of thinking, coping, and responding to challenges.

EMDR

I use EMDR to help clients process traumatic or distressing experiences that may continue to impact their emotions, beliefs, and relationships. Through a structured and supportive process, we work to reduce the emotional intensity connected to difficult memories and develop healthier, more adaptive beliefs about themselves and their experiences.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients explore the stories they have developed about themselves through their experiences. Together, we separate the person from the problem, challenge limiting beliefs, and identify strengths and experiences that support a more empowering and authentic view of themselves.
