I am a licensed therapist and certified school counselor with 17 years of experience working with children and adolescents, and three years of experience in private practice and behavioral health. My focus is to help children, adolescents, and adults gain deeper insight into themselves and develop healthier thought and behavior patterns. By fostering self-awareness and personal growth, my goal is to guide individuals toward a better state of mental health and overall well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first therapy session, my goal is to focus on understanding your reasons for seeking therapy. This time will allow us to explore your concerns, identify your goals, and begin developing a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and rapport, which is essential for effective progress throughout our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my ability to empathize with clients is key to creating a safe and supportive environment. While I may occasionally share personal experiences that resonate with their concerns, I do so carefully to ensure it enhances their journey, not redirects it. The focus remains on empowering clients to draw from their own strengths, gain new perspectives, and develop the tools they need to overcome challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My goal is to focus on identifying the clients' current thought patterns, behavioral tendencies, and emotional responses. By helping clients to recognize how these elements are interconnected, we work together to reframe unhelpful or negative thoughts, which in turn can lead to more constructive behaviors and healthier emotional responses.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

As a licensed therapist and certified school counselor, my role in working with parents and children is to guide them in developing a healthy and open relationship. This involves fostering clear, compassionate communication while also establishing healthy boundaries that support both the parent's authority and the child's growing independence. By creating an environment where both parent and child feel heard and respected, we work toward reinforcing trust, empathy, and understanding in their interactions. I assist parents in refining their parenting approach, helping them grow in their role while allowing their child to develop emotionally and socially within these structured boundaries.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

The goal is to guide the client through decision-making processes by helping them clarify their goals, explore possible solutions, and assess the potential outcomes. Rather than providing direct answers, my role is to facilitate their ability to arrive at solutions independently. By empowering clients to tap into their own strengths and resources, I help them develop the confidence and skills to tackle future challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
