New to Grow
I am a native Floridian with a Journalism background who fell into the helping profession of Social Work 26 years ago while doing a story about a family who helped recovering addicts. It changed my entire path for which I am forever grateful. You can be at ease knowing I will offer you a safe and supportive space based on compassion and a wealth of experiences. I love to ask a lot of questions and really get to know you. It takes courage to ask for help. Healing is powerful. I would be honored to help you and hope to meet you soon. Sandi Karnbach LCSW, MBA, Family Mediator
Our first session will be information gathering and getting to know each other. Everyone is very different so you can expect that I will give a brief introduction and overview; and then from there we can go at your own pace.
I offer therapy for individuals, couples and families, and trained in family mediation. I am calm, supportive, respectful (and sometimes direct) specifically for couples therapy, to ensure that each person is equally seen and heard. Sometimes having a third party is very helpful when you need to have those hard conversations. Balance is the goal, whether that is for yourself, or for each other.
People come to therapy for many reasons. I am here to listen and support you. Together we will explore what is working for you and what might need to change. Sometimes couples or families become "stuck" and it can be really helpful to have a third party guiding the conversation. Additionally, health care workers and first responders are often under extreme stressors, and they may want someone safe to talk with who fully understands health care demands. There are so many challenges in this life, and you don't have to manage these stressors alone. Therapists can spend the quality time you need to process.
Everyone is unique. We will move along at your pace. I love to ask questions and hear from your perspective. Solution focused therapy can range from 6-10 sessions for example, and this will be decided as we go along.
