I have learned over the last few years that our past does not have to always define us. Although, parts of our past may not define us, we can sometimes carry those painful, hurtful parts with us in our bodies, and not realize it. It is my hope as a therapist to help others to heal. If we work through properly processing those past hurts, trials and traumas the client can heal and not carry that hurt. It is my hope as a therapist to help others to heal, so those past memories not be triggers of any negative or hurtful feelings. I am passionate about trauma therapy. I believe that there can be healing, and it is my desire to help others through that process. I am available to work with those of any age and stage in life. I am currently licensed as a School Counselor, and a LPC-MHSP. I am trained in Brainspotting and use that with my clients. I am a trauma certified counselor. We can sometimes carry our past with us in our bodies, and not realize it. It is my hope as a therapist to help others to heal.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session entails the client sharing a good history of themselves, and how I can best help them in our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are my passion to help my clients, and my love for what I do.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice I incorporate several treatment methods to help my clients in the healing process. CBT is a great treatment method to help clients change the unhealthy, faulty thinking and learn some healthy ways to cope with whatever is going on by changing the faulty thinking, helping clients to face their fears, and learning healthy coping skills to process those feelings and emotions.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is one of my favorite therapy techniques to use with clients to process pain and trauma. Brainspotting combines concepts and techniques from both Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) (Shapiro, 1989,) and Somatic Experiencing (SE) (Levine, 2010.) It is thought that by creating the space to witness and process through thoughts, sensations, and emotions the brain and the body are free to harness their own self-healing abilities. I love being a part of the clients healing, and being able to let go of the pain trapped in their bodies.

Christian Counseling

Faith based counseling is something I am passionate about. I love working with clients in healing and being able to incorporate faith into the healing process if that is something the client chooses. God can heal us, and allows me to be one step in the process.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice I incorporate several treatment methods to help my clients in the healing process. Mindfulness is part of CBT and helps clients change the unhealthy thinking, while at the same time using some tools to help regulate the body. Some examples of this would be deep breathing, understand emotions and process them in a healthy way, and more.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Part of the name of my practice - Pinnacle means the highest point. Person-centered therapy is allowing my clients to have a safe space for sharing whatever is going on in their lives, and helping them work toward making positive changes and reaching their full potential.
