I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida and Virginia. I received my Masters degree from the University of South Carolina and have been practicing for about four years. I help individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. I work with people who are seeking relief from the burden of emotional challenges. You may be feeling overwhelmed by a battle with negative thoughts and emotions, or you’re searching for a sense of purpose and self-worth. I want to provide a safe, empathetic space where you can explore these issues, gain insight into your struggles, and find the path towards healing and personal growth. I understand that taking the first step can be difficult, but it's a courageous one, and I'm here to support you on this journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in my empathetic and nonjudgmental approach, which creates a safe and supportive environment for clients to openly express their thoughts and emotions. I also excel in active listening, allowing me to deeply understand my clients' concerns and needs. Additionally, I have a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, which enables me to provide effective, personalized interventions and strategies to help clients overcome their challenges and achieve their mental health goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my therapy practice, I employ cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) as a foundational approach to help individuals improve their mental well-being. CBT is a goal-oriented and evidence-based therapeutic method that focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients to uncover the root causes of their emotional distress and equip them with practical tools to reframe their thoughts and develop healthier coping strategies. By addressing the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and actions, CBT empowers individuals to gain insight, build resilience, and foster lasting positive change in their lives, ultimately promoting mental health and well-being.

Motivational Interviewing

In my therapy practice, I integrate motivational interviewing (MI) as a client-centered and collaborative approach to help individuals make positive changes in their lives. MI is a communication style that fosters intrinsic motivation and explores clients' ambivalence towards change. I employ empathetic listening, open-ended questions, and reflective techniques to understand my clients' values, goals, and concerns. By evoking their own motivations for change and highlighting discrepancies between their current behaviors and desired outcomes, MI empowers individuals to find their intrinsic drive to make positive choices. This person-centered approach promotes self-efficacy, enhances commitment to change, and ultimately guides clients on a path towards achieving their goals and well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In my therapy practice, I incorporate solution-focused therapy (SFT) as a dynamic and goal-oriented approach to help clients identify and work towards their preferred futures. SFT is centered on the belief that clients have the resources and strengths necessary to create positive change in their lives. I facilitate conversations that emphasize clients' past successes, their existing abilities, and the small steps they can take to achieve their desired outcomes. By focusing on solutions rather than dwelling on problems, SFT helps clients develop a clear vision of their goals and practical strategies to achieve them. This approach encourages empowerment, resilience, and a renewed sense of agency, enabling clients to build a brighter and more satisfying future.

Strength-Based

In my therapy practice, I embrace a strength-based therapy approach that places a central emphasis on identifying and nurturing the inherent strengths and resources within my clients. This approach involves a collaborative and empowering process, where I work with individuals to explore their unique qualities, skills, and resilience. By focusing on these inherent strengths, we build upon their existing capabilities to address challenges and work towards personal growth and positive change. Strength-based therapy not only fosters a more positive self-perception but also enhances clients' self-confidence and motivation to overcome obstacles. It's a client-centered approach that ultimately leads to a more hopeful and empowered outlook on their life's journey.
