Hello, I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Texas and also licensed in Virgina. I received my master's in counseling from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and have been practicing for 12 years with all ages of clients having many different issues and concerns. First session
In our first session you will have the opportunity to tell your story, how you got to where you are, the challenges you're facing and what has or hasn't worked so far.
Strengths
Through the years I have trained in many different modalities and tend to utilize interventions that seem most effective for the client in getting to the root of the problem.
Ideal clients
I love working with those who are struggling with burnout, relationship issues, transitional stress and grief or trauma. Clients often come to session feeling stuck, overwhelmed and anxious and are able to process situations and discover new ways to manage and cope.
Treatment methods
EMDR
I was trained in a 60-hour program for Somatic EMDR Certification. It is a combination of two modalities that address anxiety, extreme stress and trauma. The somatic part addresses what we hold in our bodies when we experience stress and trauma and assists with the release of negative energy stored in the nervous system. It helps reset and rewire and it is very effective. I have used it for myself, and my clients tell me it works well for them.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma focused CBT is helpful to assist you in telling your story and processing traumatic events.
