Hello, I'm Lauren Abram. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I love to help people gain understanding into their mental health needs, develop coping skills to promote healing, and navigate their grief and loss journeys. I use an integrative, client-centered, trauma-informed, and cognitive behavioral approach. I have several years of experience working with adults and older adults in the mental health, medical and cognitive health fields. I am excited to work with new clients!
In our first session together, we will complete an intake assessment, which will consist of questions about what you hope to focus on and gain from therapy. We will collaborate on your treatment goals and treatment plan, and decide on when to meet again and how often we will see each other. Moving forward, our focus in our sessions will be tailored to the completion of your treatment goals. Sometimes, you will have "homework", a coping skill to practice, an exercise to work through between sessions. Therapy sessions will meet you where you are. As life happens, crises pop up, or mental health ebbs and flows, we will meet your current need with the goal of continuing to equip you with coping skills and the ability to navigate your mental health in a supportive way.

My niche is grief therapy, with most of my experience with caregivers, hospice, end of life care, dementia, and other life limiting diseases, but also with complicated grief. Many of my clients have some grief, but many don't, and we focus on other mental health needs such as depression, anxiety, trauma.
