New to Grow
I am Heather! I am here to join clients when they feel ready to explore challenges that may be affecting their emotional well-being, relationships, or daily life. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, attachment concerns, family conflict, and life transitions. I also support individuals and families navigating the unique stressors associated with the judicial system. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping skills, improving relationships, and creating meaningful, lasting change.
My approach is eclectic and individualized, recognizing that no single method works for everyone. I integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), attachment-based interventions, and other evidence based approaches to meet each client's unique needs. You have already taken an important step by looking for support. I believe healing happens through connection, understanding, and practical change. Together, we will gather an understanding of what limitations and concerns you have surrounding the therapeutic process and work together to build the connection for a positive therapeutic experience.
I bring a nonjudgemental approach to each session. I am able to provide the space and time needed for processing and/or provide a structured session. Because I believe everyone is unique and has their own way to process emotions and situations, I meet clients where they are at and provide a therapeutic environment that will foster client's needs.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families facing a variety of concerns including trauma, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, family conflict, attachment-related challenges, and life transitions. I work with children in foster care and post-adoption. I also have specialized experience working with individuals and families involved in the judicial system, helping clients manage the emotional, relational and practical challenges that often accompany these experiences.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients learn to assess if your reactions are based on cognitive distortions and, if so, actively work to reframe them into balanced reactions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients learn that two opposite truths can occur at the same time. Clients learn to accept yourself exactly as you are in the present moment, while learning to recognize making positive changes are necessary to improve quality of life.
Eclectic
Eclectic method allows for clients to have flexibility with their treatment modality. Because clients are unique and their situations are unique, there may be one or more methods that are beneficial.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness with clients to be in the present moment without judgement.
