Hi! I'm Tuesdae Lawrence, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the states of Tennessee and North Carolina working with clients via telehealth. I received my Masters from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and have been practicing for 8 years. I help individuals, couples, and family clients move beyond their problems and start living the life they desire. I specialize in working with clients experiencing issues related to anxiety, stress, depression, anger management, trauma, grief/loss, adjustment, self-esteem/worth, communication, relationship and conflict management. I practice an integrative approach using modalities and treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to help clients move beyond their problem.
During the first session clients should expect to spend time building rapport and connection in a safe space by therapeutic policies and procedures, confidentiality, the process of therapy and what is expected by the client and therapist during the therapeutic process, learn about each other, identify the problem that brings them to therapy, assess how they are feeling currently, as well as what has changed and how since booking the first appointment and explore options moving forward towards healing.
My assertive communication style, compassion, calmness, and personable attitude working together to find solutions are my greatest strengths as a provider. Having worked with a diverse population and variety of people for the past 8 years, I’ve developed in providing a safe space that promotes clients feeling seen, heard, and validated in their feelings as they confront their reason for therapy and work collaboratively with the client to identify problems and create goals specific to the them; allowing them to move beyond their problem and create the life they desire.
I love working with individuals teens, adults and couples who find themselves experiencing life in away that makes it difficult to find solutions that helps them move beyond their problem(s); causing them to feel anxious, stuck, confused, hopeless, etc.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past eight years. This method has proven very successful in helping individuals, couples, and families recognize how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We are able to then use that knowledge to change thinking and/or behavior patterns that will help them live the life they desire.
I’ve been using Couple Counseling in my practice for the past eight years to help couples improve their relationship. This method has proven very successful in helping couples identify issues that does not promote relationship satisfaction. I use a collaborate approach to find solutions to help improve communication, connection, and strengthen the relationship bond.
