Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California and have been practicing therapy for 9 years. I specialize in working with adults and adolescents experiencing anxiety, depression, and healing from trauma. Over the last 9 years I have supported adults and adolescents in community, home, and school settings. In therapy sessions I prioritize the client feeling safety and trust, and emphasize that you are the expert of your experiences. I am solution oriented and will seek to help you feel empowered at all times, while also exploring the past and present experiences which are contributing to your symptoms.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I'll ask you questions about what you want to work on in therapy, and start to create an outline for treatment goals. I'll ask about your strengths, values, interests, struggles, and ideal outcomes. Depending on your age, we may play a game, practice a coping skill, and/ or get to know the treatment space.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive behavioral therapies while mixing in techniques of art therapy and somatic therapy. I support clients in identifying their internal strengths and focus on capabilities and interests. I use relational and verbal interventions such as processing, discussing patterns, and cultivating compassion for the self. If a movement or non-verbal technique would be more appropriate, or if we feel like talk therapy is stagnating, I will use deep breathing, therapeutic tapping, and drawing/ painting to support expression and emotional reflection.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The most important tool in any therapy will always be our relationship. I prioritize a positive, trustworthy, and safe feeling relationship for our work together to be effective and meaningful. I specialize in supporting clients who experience anxiety and depression, either from past experiences or current stressors, in creating a safe environment in which they can examine painful emotions and come to a place of greater self-compassion and growth. I have been trained in multiple modalities including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, systems approach, and behavior therapy, and use an integrative approach based on the specified needs and wants of each person.
