Dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 21 years of experience in healthcare.
I provide evidence-based medication management within a respectful, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their symptoms, concerns, and personal treatment goals throughout the process.
First session
Your first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding what you have been experiencing and how it is affecting your life. We’ll review your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments, current medications, and goals for care. From there, we’ll determine whether medication may be helpful. If recommended, I’ll explain your options, expected benefits, possible side effects, and follow-up plan so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Strengths
I bring careful diagnostic thinking, attention to detail, and an ability to connect the dots between symptoms, medications, and daily functioning.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are motivated to improve their mental health, value a collaborative treatment approach, and are committed to achieving lasting emotional wellness and improved daily functioning. They are open to discussing their symptoms, treatment history, and concerns about medication while setting realistic goals for improved mood, reduced anxiety, better focus, restful sleep, healthier relationships, and confidence navigating everyday life.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I provide supportive therapy by offering validation, encouragement, and problem-solving skills to help patients manage stressors and maintain stability, especially for individuals facing chronic mental health conditions or life transitions.
Motivational Interviewing
I incorporate motivational interviewing to enhance patients' intrinsic motivation for change, particularly for those struggling with substance use, gambling behaviors, or ambivalence about treatment adherence.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize solution focused techniques to help patients identify strengths and small, achievable goals, which is especially effective for individuals seeking practical strategies for stress management and problem solving.
