New to Grow
Hi, I’m Joelyne Gold, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified death doula, Celtic shamanic practitioner, and specialist in women’s issues. I provide compassionate, trauma-focused therapy for individuals navigating emotional, relational, legal, and life-transition challenges. My approach is collaborative, personalized, and strength-based. I combine evidence-informed modalities like EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT, DBT-informed skills, somatic and mindfulness practices, and parts work with shamanic and holistic healing practices to support your mind, body, and spirit. My forensic training helps me understand the dynamics of narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, and coercive relationships. I support clients in recognizing patterns of manipulation, trauma bonding, and post-separation abuse while helping rebuild safety, clarity, and self-trust. I also guide those navigating legal or court-related stress with compassion and expertise. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and create a personalized path toward healing, resilience, and meaningful change. I provide a grounded, supportive space where you can reconnect with your inner guidance, develop practical coping skills, and honor your whole self — mind, body, and spirit. Whether you are healing from trauma, relationship abuse, grief, anxiety, or major life transitions, I welcome you to a safe space where transformation is possible.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we will create a safe, supportive space where you can begin sharing your experiences, challenges, and hopes at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we will clarify your goals and begin shaping a trauma-focused, personalized plan that supports both immediate stability and long-term healing. I will help you identify patterns, strengths, and areas where you may feel stuck, while offering practical tools to begin building emotional regulation, safety, and resilience. This first step is about establishing trust, collaboration, and a clear path forward so you leave feeling supported, understood, and grounded in the work we will do together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I bring a unique perspective to my work, shaped by my upbringing in Scotland where I was introduced to Celtic shamanism early in childhood through my lineage. This experience taught me the power of spiritual mindset and its role in deep healing. I combine this understanding with trauma-focused therapy, hypnosis, and other evidence-informed interventions to help clients reset their nervous system, process trauma, and achieve meaningful, lasting change. My approach honors both the psychological and inner dimensions of healing, creating a space where transformation can occur on multiple levels.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to support clients seeking trauma-focused healing and personal growth, particularly adult women navigating emotional, behavioral, or life-transition challenges. My ideal clients are open to holistic and spiritually-informed approaches, including energy healing, shamanic practices, and other mind-body modalities. I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can process trauma, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
EMDR
We use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) because it is a well-researched, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. Traumatic or overwhelming experiences can become stored in the brain in a way that continues to trigger emotional, physical, or behavioral reactions long after the event has passed. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories so they are no longer experienced as emotionally overwhelming, allowing for healthier responses in the present. EMDR is used in our practice because it: Effectively treats trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and related conditions Helps reduce emotional reactivity without requiring detailed retelling of traumatic events Supports nervous system regulation and emotional resilience Can lead to meaningful improvement in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy Integrates well with a holistic, trauma-informed treatment approach We tailor EMDR to each client’s needs and readiness, ensuring a safe, collaborative, and compassionate process focused on lasting healing and improved quality of life.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
We use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy because it is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand and heal the different “parts” of themselves shaped by life experiences, stress, and trauma. IFS is based on the idea that we all have parts that try to protect us, even when their strategies cause distress. Rather than trying to eliminate symptoms, IFS helps clients build awareness, curiosity, and self-leadership so these parts can be understood, unburdened, and supported in healthier ways. IFS is used in our practice because it: Helps address trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges Reduces inner conflict and self-criticism Promotes emotional regulation and resilience Encourages self-compassion and long-term healing Integrates well with a trauma-informed, holistic treatment approach. We tailor IFS to each individual’s goals and readiness, creating a safe and collaborative space that supports insight, healing, and lasting change.
Hypnotherapy
We use hypnotherapy as a therapeutic tool to help individuals access deeper levels of awareness and facilitate meaningful emotional and behavioral change. In a guided, focused state of attention, clients are better able to explore underlying patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that may be contributing to distress. Hypnotherapy is used in our practice because it: Helps address anxiety, trauma, stress, and phobias Supports behavior change, including habit and coping patterns Enhances emotional regulation and relaxation Allows for insight and healing beyond conscious talk therapy Integrates well with evidence-based and holistic treatment approaches Hypnotherapy is always used ethically, collaboratively, and at the client’s pace, with the goal of increasing self-awareness, empowerment, and long-term well-being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
We use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) because it is an evidence-based approach that helps people manage intense emotions, reduce distress, and improve relationships. DBT teaches practical skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, making it easier to cope with life’s challenges. DBT is used in our practice because it: Helps manage strong emotions and reduce impulsive behaviors Improves coping skills and emotional regulation Supports healthier communication and relationships Is effective for mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, and stress Provides structured, skills-based tools for real-life change We tailor DBT to each client’s needs, creating a supportive, collaborative environment that promotes stability, growth, and long-term well-being.
