Welcome! My name is Allison, and I am an LPC in the state of Texas. As a therapist, I believe it is important that we challenge ourselves and do hard work while also giving ourselves grace along the way. I enjoy working with those struggling with an eating disorder, body image distress, anxiety, and life changes. If this sounds like you, let's work together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will be gathering information to learn about you and what has brought you to counseling. We will work on setting goals and a plan for moving forward. Remember, this is YOUR session, so I will provide as much or little guidance as you would like.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I do not use one therapeutic approach. My goal is to get to know each person as a unique individual and provide care and support that works best for them. I am also happy to incorporate faith into treatment, if desired.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults who may be struggling with an eating disorder/disordered eating, body image distress, life changes, or anxiety. I have experience working in inpatient and residential treatment. I use a combination of therapeutic approaches and do not follow a specific structure in sessions. If you are seeking a very structured approach, I may not be the best fit. *Please do not book an appointment for an adolescent at this time.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I really enjoy using ACT to help you reconnect to your core values and what truly matters to you. It will also help you to identify and acknowledge your thoughts, emotions and experiences, so you can process through them.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT skills are a great way to learn a straight forward approach to improve emotional regulation, communication, and mindfulness.

Motivational Interviewing

We will use this to help you identify your strengths and goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We will use this to explore how thoughts, emotions, and actions interact with one another.

My first appointment with Ms. Allison was great. I appreciate that she provided a judgement free space where I was able to tell her most things in my current life. She listens very well and provides good feedback. I look forward to our next visit.
