Hello there! My name is Carrie and I’m an LCPC from the state of Illinois. I’ve been working with kids and families for over 17 years. Kids love me because I’m weird, I don’t take life too seriously and I love to have fun! Parents love me because I’m real, I’m supportive and I understand that life happens sometimes. I believe that kids are pretty much perfect but the world gets in the way sometimes. I’m good at helping bring back the balance. I’d love to help if I can!
During our first session, we will review the paperwork you completed before we met and go over any questions you may have regarding counseling. Together, we will discuss what led you to seek therapy and what outcomes you are hoping to achieve.
I get told that I'm not like other therapists or I'm not what they were expecting. I build relationships with kids and families. I'm weird, goofy and love to have fun. I'm real, understanding and I get that we all have a lot going on in this crazy life. I trust my gut but I trust parent's opinions more. I want to help kids do well in life but most of all...I want kids to be...KIDS!
I love kids! They’re so awesome! I have one of my own and he is autistic. My son's neurodivergence opened up a whole new world to me. There are so many kids, some like mine and some not, who have difficulty functioning in their environments due to variables that are outside of their control. In addition to kids, I love working with families, teachers, administrations and other therapists to help effectively manage the difficulties kids face everyday.

Strength-Based
While I use multiple treatment methods, at the core of them all is the strength-based approach. Finding out what is working, what a client does well and building upon that helps increase happiness and self-confidence. When we feel better about ourselves and happier, we can cope with life’s challenges more effectively.
