(she/her)
I have been a therapist for the last 4 years and a social worker for the last 17 years. I have experience working with mental health, trauma/crisis, hospice/death/grief, and running therapeutic groups. I have worked with a wide variety of populations. My goal as a therapist is to get to know the person/couple/family and work to improve communication, relationships, self-esteem, increase coping skills, and work with you on your goals to be the best you.
In my first session, I am really just trying to get to know the person- where they are from, family/friend dynamics, what they do for a living, and what brought them to therapy.
I am a great listener and have a strong desire to want to help others.
I work best with individuals, couples, or families who recognize the issue they have come to therapy for and are willing to put in the work to address and ameliorate those issues.
Christina Potter offers therapy covered by Medicaid - Peach State Health Plan and Peach State Health Plan (Managed Medicaid) in Georgia.
I have used this method to assist patients in identifying issues or challenges they are facing and assisted them in creating goals to address those issues to decrease unwanted behaviors, thoughts, etc.
I have five years of experience working in hospice addressing issues of grief with patients on hospice and also helping support their loved ones during the hospice process and after the death of their loved one.
Although I do not have a lot of experiencing in the therapeutic setting, I will provide a safe space for individuals or couples who are having issues with sex in different scopes.
I have served as a crisis counselor as well as led trauma teams to address traumatic experiences.
I try to incorporate a strength-based approach in all therapy sessions.
