New to Grow
I bring 18 years of experience in education and mental health to help people who feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, stressed or burned out. I support clients in making sense of their emotions, shifting unhelpful thought patterns, and building practical tools for everyday life. Alongside the emotional insight work, I also focus on real-world functioning: executive skills like planning, follow-through, goal setting, and creating systems that fit your life. I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, or neurodivergence, offering a supportive and nonjudgmental space to build stability. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
In our first session, I focus on creating a comfortable space where you can talk openly about what’s been going on. I’ll ask questions to understand your experiences and what you want to work on in therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying clear goals and a direction for treatment. I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and clear about next steps.
With 18 years of experience as a teacher and school administrator specializing in 504 and special education, I bring a unique system-wide perspective to my therapeutic practice that benefits clients of all ages. My diverse background—including a clinical internship split between private practice and educational settings—enables me to understand the deep intersections of systemic pressure, family dynamics, and individual mental health. Having spent nearly two decades navigating complex behavioral plans and institutional structures, I am uniquely skilled at breaking down overwhelming life challenges into manageable, structured steps. Whether you are an adult navigating workplace burnout and relationship stress, or a young person transitioning into a new stage of life, my varied experience allows me to provide practical, real-world strategies that help you thrive across all areas of your life.
I specialize in working with teens and adults who are navigating the messy, overwhelming seasons of life transitions, relationship shifts, and family dynamics. Whether you are struggling to make big life choices, feeling misunderstood in your relationships, or trying to manage anxiety and burnout as a neurodivergent individual, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Using a practical blend of CBT, DBT, and solution-focused strategies, I help you understand how your unique brain works, build concrete communication skills, and quiet the inner critic. Together, we will turn overthinking into actionable steps so you can confidently build a life that feels authentic to you.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work collaboratively with you to identify stuck points, manage daily stress, and build a practical toolkit for long-term relief. My approach is warm, structured, and focused on giving you concrete, actionable strategies that fit into your real life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
By combining cognitive restructuring with concrete dialectical skills—such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation—I help you untangle negative thought patterns while providing real-time tools to manage intense emotions. My approach is structured, collaborative, and goal-oriented, focusing on building a personalized toolkit that helps you reduce daily stress, navigate difficult moments, and regain control of your life.
Psychoeducation
In my practice, I utilize psychoeducation to demystify anxiety and depression, shifting the focus from "what is wrong with you" to "how your brain and body are responding to stress." By clearly explaining the physiological mechanisms of trauma, panic, and low mood, I help you understand the root causes of your symptoms and normalize your experiences. This educational foundation removes the shame often associated with mental health struggles, empowers you with a shared therapeutic vocabulary, and provides the logical "why" behind the CBT and DBT skills we implement, making your path to recovery both predictable and manageable.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help you move past feeling stuck in the problems of yesterday and start building the life you want today. Instead of spending months analyzing past pain, this time-limited, future-oriented approach focuses on your existing strengths, resources, and successful coping strategies. Together, we will identify your specific goals, discover what is already working well in your life, and map out small, realistic steps to achieve rapid relief. This empowering method shifts the conversation from symptom management to concrete progress, helping you find immediate, actionable solutions to anxiety and depression.
