I’m Kristi, a therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges and heal from past experiences. I specialize in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and trauma therapy for adults, providing a safe and supportive space to work through difficult emotions and experiences. Together, we can focus on building coping skills, improving self-esteem, and fostering resilience so you can feel more empowered and confident in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another and building a strong foundation for our work together. I’ll take time to learn more about you—your story, your goals, and what’s bringing you to therapy—while giving you space to ask any questions you may have about the process. We’ll talk about what’s important to you, what you’d like to work on, and how we can tailor our sessions to meet your needs. Think of it as a two-way conversation where we begin building trust, understanding, and connection to help you feel comfortable and supported.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. I pride myself on meeting clients where they are, using empathy and active listening to build trust and connection. I’m skilled in tailoring evidence-based approaches, like Trauma-Focused CBT, to each individual’s unique needs and experiences. I also bring a strength-based perspective to therapy, helping clients recognize their inner resilience and build practical skills to navigate life’s challenges. Most importantly, I stay fully present and invested in my clients’ growth and healing journeys.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My dream clients are adults who are ready to explore their inner world and take steps toward healing and growth. Whether you’re working through the impacts of trauma, struggling with self-esteem, or looking to build healthier ways to cope with life’s stressors, I’d love to work with you. You don’t have to have everything “figured out”—all I ask is that you show up as you are, ready to take it one step at a time. Together, we can create a space for self-discovery, resilience, and lasting change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My experience with CBT involves employing evidence-based strategies to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, replace maladaptive behaviors, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to stressors. I find this approach particularly effective because it empowers clients to understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, fostering self-awareness and long-term change.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have utilized TF-CBT to support clients in safely exploring and processing their trauma narratives while building coping skills to manage trauma-related symptoms such as intrusive thoughts, nightmares, hypervigilance, and emotional dysregulation. TF-CBT is particularly effective because it provides a structured framework while allowing for flexibility based on the developmental needs and resilience of the client.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is an essential component of many therapeutic approaches, including CBT and TF-CBT. It involves providing clients and, in some cases, their families or caregivers with information about mental health, psychological processes, and specific conditions. The goal is to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and empower clients to actively participate in their treatment.
