Hi, I am April and I am glad you found my profile! Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, or are past traumas affecting your mental health and wellness? Your story matters and I will help you create a safe, nonjudgmental space to help you process and heal. I will help equip you with the tools you need to restore balance to your life and get unstuck. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. It takes courage to take the first steps towards change and I am here to support and empower you.
At our first session we will discuss what brings you to therapy and I will start to learn a little bit of your story. What are your strengths? What is your current support system and what are you doing to coping with your stressors currently? I will work with you to explore where you are struggling and feeling stuck/needing change. Together we will work to formulate goals for therapy and healing and check progress throughout your counseling journey.
I bring evidence based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Positive Psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). Therapy is not one-size fits all so various therapy tools and techniques are used in sessions.
I have many years working with adolescents, adults, and seniors struggling with various aging including loss of independence issues. I work hard to create a safe and nonjudgemental space to help you in your journey.
