I specialize in working with women and couples who are navigating various challenges in their lives and relationships. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, or self-esteem issues, I provide a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where we begin by discussing what brings them to counseling and their goals for therapy. I’ll ask about their personal and relational history to get a better understanding of their current situation. This session is also an opportunity for clients to ask any questions they may have about the counseling process. Together, we’ll start to develop a plan for how we can work together to address their concerns and move toward their goals. It’s about building a foundation of trust and setting the stage for meaningful progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over the years, I have found CBT to be incredibly effective in treating a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related disorders. The structured nature of CBT allows for clear, goal-oriented sessions that help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. How I Use CBT in My Practice In: Assessment and Goal Setting: The first step in using CBT with clients involves a thorough assessment to identify specific issues and set clear, achievable goals. Identifying Cognitive Distortions:One of the core components of CBT is identifying cognitive distortions—irrational or unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress. I work with clients to recognize these distortions, such as "all-or-nothing thinking" or "catastrophizing," and explore how these thoughts impact their emotions and actions. Challenging and Reframing Thoughts: Once cognitive distortions are identified, I guide clients in challenging these thoughts. I use evidence-based techniques to test the validity of these thoughts and develop more balanced, realistic thinking patterns. Behavioral Activation and Exposure: In cases of anxiety or depression, I often incorporate behavioral activation, which encourages clients to engage in activities that bring them pleasure or a sense of accomplishment, counteracting the withdrawal or avoidance behaviors often seen in these conditions. Skills Training: CBT is also about equipping clients with practical skills they can use in everyday life. This might include relaxation techniques, problem-solving strategies, or assertiveness training, depending on the client’s needs. Monitoring Progress: Throughout the therapy process, I work closely with clients to monitor progress toward their goals. This might involve tracking thoughts, behaviors, and emotional responses in a journal or using standardized assessment tools to measure changes in symptoms. The structured and collaborative nature of CBT empowers clients to take an active role in their healing process. Many of my clients have reported significant improvements in their mental health, noting that CBT has provided them with a clearer understanding of their thought processes and practical tools to manage their emotions and behaviors. For many, these skills continue to benefit them long after therapy has ended, contributing to long-term well-being and resilience.
