My name is Ashley, I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with individuals of varying age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, and personality style addressing a wide range of issues (including but not limited to stress, addiction, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, ADHD, PTSD, grief/loss, codependency, self-esteem, and anger management.)
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I'm here to help you sort through the things that are difficult and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment. I facilitate a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate environment for each client so that they feel comfortable freely expressing themselves and processing any current challenges. I will initially gather information regarding your reason for starting therapy as well as your goals and expectations for our sessions. One of my main goals is to enable you to use your inner resources to tackle life’s challenges which will lead to the development of a greater sense of well-being. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I use an eclectic client-centered approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I firmly believe that each client is unique and requires their own set of individualized and evidence-based treatment methods that align with their specific needs and preferences.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My biggest strength as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental environment that will enable you to feel comfortable enough to freely express yourself and discuss difficult topics. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles.
