Hello! I'm Leslie Shadrick and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a therapist, I am committed to helping you work towards a place of healing while providing a safe and supportive environment allowing you to process your thoughts and feelings. I have worked in the mental health field for over 18 years. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and adults in a variety of populations. I specialize in racial and sexual identity issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, boundary setting, relationship problems, communication, and self-esteem issues. Together we will work towards wellness, healing, and leading a happier and healthier life. I look forward to collaborating with you.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get acquainted. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy, review your background, and discuss what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll also share how I work and take time to answer any questions you may have.
My therapeutic approaches includes Person Centered allowing you to set your course of treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) it's one effective treatment for a variety of concerns and symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and trauma. Solution-focused is also another helpful technique when there are specific problems. It helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing only on problems. It's helpful with sustaining a desired behavioral change. And I know there may be times when you just need a safe space to just talk and process and I'm here for that as well.
