Let’s Talk Therapy! My name is Bre Auna Thomas. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker {LCSW}. I am licensed as an LCSW in two states Nevada and Georgia. My passion is helping my clients gain awareness of unhelpful thought patterns, teaching clients skills and techniques so that they are able to emotionally regulate and self soothe, ultimately alleviating their mental health symptoms. My educational background includes a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California {USC}. I also have a dual Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Sociology with a minor in Pre-Law.
During the first session clients are asked a series of questions to identify a diagnosis and distressing symptoms a thorough and individualized assessment is completed along with a treatment plan. When booking a session with me you have a safe space to get the tools you need to learn to destress and self regulate.
My greatest strength as a clinician is that I utilize a strength-based perspective to empower clients. Each session with me as your clinician is safe place for clients to explore and gain awareness through utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy {CBT} and the 12th unhelpful thought patterns. Clients receive therapeutic homework via email based on information reported during that session and discuss during the following session.
There is no single solution or treatment modality when understanding mental health. I have been trained in a variety of different treatment modalities to deliver therapeutic treatment. However, my base and main treatment modality used in every session is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy {CBT} and the 12 unhelpful thought patterns.
