Let’s Talk Therapy! My name is Bre Auna Thomas. As your therapist I am able to help my clients gain awareness of unhelpful thought patterns and self defeating beliefs to alleviate their mental health symptoms. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker {LCSW} in two states Nevada and Georgia. My passion is helping my clients gain awareness of unhelpful thought patterns and teaching my clients the skills and techniques to emotionally regulate, achieve mental stability, and self soothe themselves ultimately alleviating their mental health symptoms. My educational background includes a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California {USC}. I also have a dual Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Sociology with a minor in Pre-Law.
During the first session clients are asked a series of questions to complete an assessment, develop treatment goals, and identify a diagnosis. As your therapist I provide a safe space free of judgment so that my clients develop and enhance the tools needed to learn self acceptance and achieve their personal therapeutic goals.
My greatest strength as a clinician is that I utilize a strength-based perspective and humanistic approach when working with my clients so that they feel empowered. Each session with me as your therapist allows for you to explore, learn, and gain awareness through utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy {CBT} and the 12th unhelpful thought patterns. My clients receive therapeutic homework via email because my goal is to help my clients practice skills both in session and outside of session so that they are able to achieve treatment goals in a reasonable and realistic time frame.
There is no single solution or treatment modality when understanding mental health. I have been trained in a variety of different treatment modalities to deliver therapeutic treatment. However, my base and main treatment modality used in every session is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy {CBT} and the 12 unhelpful thought patterns.
