New to Grow
You're showing up every day — at work, for your family, for everyone who counts on you — and from the outside, it looks like you've got it all figured out. But underneath, you're carrying more than anyone knows. The stress, the worry, the feeling that no matter how much you do, it's never quite enough. I'm Season, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and the founder of U Matter Counseling. I work with professionals who are high-functioning on the surface but quietly struggling with anxiety, stress, and the pressure of trying to hold it all together. You don't need to be in crisis to deserve support — and reaching out isn't a sign of weakness. It's one of the strongest things you can do. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, and Person-Centered techniques. I also integrate faith-based perspectives for clients who find meaning in their spirituality. Sessions are 100% virtual, so you can get the support you need from wherever feels most comfortable.
Your first session is simple — we talk. No interrogation, no deep dive. Just a real conversation about why you're here and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. We'll set goals together so every session after this one has direction. Most people are nervous beforehand and relieved afterward. It's never as scary as you think. You'll leave feeling heard and with a clearer picture of what's possible.
I'm not the therapist who's going to sit back and nod while you talk in circles. I'll listen deeply, and I'll also be honest with you — with compassion, always, but without sugarcoating. You deserve someone who will be real with you, not just tell you what you want to hear. I understand the weight of trying to balance a career, a family, and your own well-being because I live it too. That shared experience means I'm not guessing at what your day looks like — I get it. And because I know that no two people carry stress the same way, I tailor my approach to fit you, not the other way around. Whether that means drawing on CBT, DBT, solution-focused strategies, or integrating your faith into the work, we build something that actually makes sense for your life. My sessions feel like a real conversation — warm, relatable, and judgment-free — but we're always moving toward something. You'll leave with clarity, practical tools, and a sense that you're not just venting into a void. You're making progress.
My ideal client is someone who's been holding it together for so long that they've almost forgotten what it feels like to not carry everything. You might be a professional who's excelling on paper — but privately, you're overwhelmed, anxious, or just going through the motions wondering, "Is this really it?" Maybe you're navigating a major life transition — a career change, a shift in a relationship, a season that's asking more of you than you expected. Or maybe nothing dramatic happened at all; you're just tired of the constant worry, the overthinking, and the pressure you put on yourself. You've probably been handling things on your own for a while, and reaching out feels unfamiliar. Whether you're fully ready to dive in or still a little skeptical about therapy, what matters is that you're here. That takes courage. You're looking for more peace of mind, better balance, the confidence to set boundaries without guilt, and stronger connections with the people who matter most. You don't want to just cope — you want to actually feel like yourself again.
