I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at University of Texas at Arlington. I have 16 years of experience working in the social work field in a variety of settings including behavioral residential treatment centers, public schools, county jails, medical hospitals, and with the local mental health authority serving both the severely mentally ill, and those in crisis. I have 12 years of experience providing direct clinical services such as diagnostic evaluations, and individual and group counseling. Over the years I've worked with both adults and adolescents who are dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and the affects of childhood trauma.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Do you want change in your life, but don’t know where to start? Are you dealing with depression, anxiety, and/or attention and focus, and feel alone in your struggles? If you answered yes to any of these, you've come to the right place. I am here to listen, and I will ask questions guided towards helping you gain insight, as well as explore strategies to begin making the changes you want to make in your life. The relationship between client and therapist can be very powerful. Sessions are centered around you and how to help you be healthier and happier. I primarily use a psycho dynamic approach, exploring the core beliefs that affect emotions and patterns of behaviors. I utilize a variety of techniques tailored to the needs of each individual.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use a variety of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, Psycho-Dynamic, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths Based. I do not believe there is one exact recipe that resolves a situation. I believe in treating my clients as the unique individuals they are, and determining what method(s) may help their specific situation.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are working with those suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or ADHD. I take a holistic approach in looking at all aspects of a person's life and environment to help determine the best course(s) of action. I enjoy working with adults who are ready to make changes in their lives, and in need of guidance and support. I believe my job is to listen, empower, and educate so that you can make the right changes for you. ***IF YOU DO NOT SEE A TIME SLOT THAT YOU NEED ON THE CALENDAR PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME. Sometimes I have other openings.
