Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Carolina. I began my career as a teacher and transitioned to counseling so that I could continue to help people holistically.
I began my career as a teacher and transitioned to counseling so that I could continue to help people holistically.
My therapeutic goal is to empower my clients to identify and live their most authentic and intentional lives honoring what they have experienced, are experiencing, and want to experience.
First session
In our first session we will dive right into what challenges you are experiencing and what you want to be different in your life. I will ask questions to help us identify the dots we need to connect to help you along your journey. We will also begin to get to know each other so that I can come alongside you in you journey.
Strengths
Across my journey, personally and professionally, I have interacted with so many different types of people. This has allowed me to develop an ability to see and hear people as an individual and through their interactions with me, they feel seen and heard. The acceptance, understanding, and attention that I provide to my clients paired with the accountability, encouragement, and realness makes me the kind of therapist that people can feel safe and familiar with while maintaining the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship.
Ideal clients
My clients are open to self exploration, seeking to improve their quality of life, and desire to be their whole self. They are ready for change and need support figuring out what kind of change, how to change, and what they need to overcome the challenges of their change journey. They have been through some things and want to feel free, empowered, and confident in their lives.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using CBT in my practice since I began. It helps clients become aware of negative or inaccurate thinking patterns and how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are intertwined. We'll use CBT to improve self-awareness and empower ownership and change.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment connects the mind and body to help you heal from distressing experiences. The resources and tools gained through this type of work can be used across environments and situations.
