Hi! My name is Taylor! Starting (or re-starting) therapy takes a lot of courage to do. So much of what happens in therapy is a result of therapeutic relationship. For that reason, I hope you’re able to find a therapist with whom you can truly connect and feel understood by. My own therapeutic style fosters collaboration, attentive listening, and at times – some humor. I've spent a majority of my career in community-based care, often hoping to truly "meet you where you're at." I plan to bring this approach to individual therapy because I believe in providing care in a way that is non-judgmental, authentic, and respectful.
Clients can expect that first and foremost, they will have a listening ear. I believe that typically clients already have the answers they’re seeking, they just need the tools to get there. The first session will be spent by taking time to get to know you and also learn what made you choose therapy now. I strive to create a space where you always feel respected, safe, and heard.
My biggest strength as a therapist is a willingness to learn. Like the world around us, therapy is constantly changing and adapting. We have to be creative in our approaches to find reprieve and that often doesn't come easily. I like to help my clients collect tools and skills that will actually work for them - and aren't just deep breathing or meditation.
I love working with individuals who aren't really sure how therapy may help, but know that they need something different than what they're experiencing right now.
I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and utilize it in my sessions alongside many other modalities. I believe that therapy is done best when tailored to the individual and that may look like a variety of techniques including DBT and outside of it.
I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as another tool, similar to DBT, that pairs well with other modalities. This technique helps me to understand a client's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
