(she/her)
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counsellor (LPCC-S) based in OHIO. I received my Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies from Ohio Christian University. Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. I provide compassionate counseling for women navigating anxiety, emotional exhaustion, trauma, identity struggles, and life transitions through an integrative and faith-sensitive approach. I have worked with clients aged 6 to 80 in community and private practice settings. I have also worked with Medical Students at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine helping young adults struggling to become the best versions of themselves.
Our first session will be the intake assessment which is usually 60-90 minutes, we'll start with brief introductions, go over some paperwork if needed, and then dive into learning more about the specific challenges you're facing. This will help create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I feel that I am an accepting and non-judgmental person who genuinely cares for the welfare of others. While I have particular theoretical orientations, my approach is client-driven and designed to meet the particular needs of the individual. I have worked with individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. Each person is unique and deserves to be treated as such. These strengths combine to create a supportive and effective counseling environment where you can feel valued, understood, and motivated to work toward your goals.
I have experience in helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. I specialize in working with Women and children under the age of 18. Clients working through anxiety, depression, life transitions, College Transitions, and relationship difficulties. I have served ages 6 - 80 years of age. My approach is tailored to each person’s unique needs, using evidence-based techniques to support you in finding clarity in reaching your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using CBT in my practice and it has had great success. CBT is an evidence-based therapeutic approach examining how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact yourself and relationships in your life; however, I have a wide range of tools and modalities to utilize during our time together! we will work together to evaluate and identify what modality would be best for you with the goal on how to improve your way of living in a healthy stabilized life. CBT emphasizes helping individuals learn to be their therapists. Through exercises in the session as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, patients/clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
This short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach incorporates positive psychology principles and practices and helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is a counseling approach designed to help people find the motivation to make a positive behavior change. In motivational interviewing, I help people explore their feelings and find their own motivations.
Christian Counseling
By incorporating faith into therapy, my goal is to empower clients to discover their inner strength, deepen their spiritual connection, and cultivate lasting change. I believe that integrating one's beliefs into the therapeutic process can lead to profound transformation and growth.
Faith based therapy
If this is your method of choice, We can use those bible principles to see ourselves the same way God sees us. Bible principles are combined with evidence-based practices to help individuals achieve their goals.

Best counselor ever! The fact that I can communicate with her either in Spanish or English makes a world of difference. Melinda is intelligent, solution oriented, warm, caring(she goes the extra mile), empowering, and direct. Wonderful sense of humor! Melinda has been supporting me through the worst days of my life. I cannot thank her enough for her kindness.
