12 years of experience
I am deeply drawn to person-centered therapy and committed to creating a safe, authentic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and grounded in the core values of empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard. While my foundation lies in person-centered principles, I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems Therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. I have experience supporting individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, with a strong emphasis on fostering a healthy mind-body connection. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work happens through genuine rapport and collaboration. I view therapy as a partnership—one in which clients are empowered on their path toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.
In our first therapy session, clients can expect a process that focuses on introductions, building trust, gathering information, and establishing treatment goals. The goal is to create a safe space to share and collaboratively develop a treatment plan for therapy.
I work through a strengths-based lens and enjoy allowing strong therapeutic relationships to develop with intentionality.
I enjoy working with individuals regarding a range of topics and experiences, such as grief, life transitions, and anxiety or depression.
I appreciate the trust and vulnerability it takes to seek help. Together, we will engage in compassionate, person-centered, and holistic therapy. I intend to promote an empathic, safe, and non-judgmental space that allows a strong therapeutic relationship to form.

Melissa is an exceptionally supportive therapist, with particular skills in validation, active listening and offers an overall warmth and authenticity to her practice. She worked with me through harmful thought patterns and ensures that we find a solution together. Aside from this striking balance of warmth and professionalism, she's innately a kind human being. I will miss her very much as I move out of state.
