I am a dual board-certified nurse practitioner in family medicine and psychiatry/mental health and have been practicing since 2007. I have experience treating patients ages 12 and up. I graduated from University of Tampa with a master’s degree in nursing, University of Akron with a post-master’s certificate in family practice, and Ohio University with a post-master’s certificate in psychiatric mental health. My current focus/specialty is general psychiatry for pediatrics and adults. Prior to being a nurse practitioner, I worked for 25 years as an LPN/RN with part of that time working as a medic in the United States Air Force. I believe in looking at the whole patient (physical, mental, and emotional health), not just the symptoms they present with. I ensure that the patient is comfortable with and understands their treatment plan. I provide medication management as well as psychotherapy. If you need a certain day or time and don't see availability, you can find my phone number on my website listed below.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During your first session, we will briefly get to know one another. Then, we will go through intake forms and find out what your goals are, and how I can help you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I like to take account the whole person. That includes medical issues as well as psychological. I make sure patients understand and are in agreement with their treatment plan.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I serve patients ages 12 and up. My clients are motivated to get better with help. I enjoy seeing patients in all stages of their life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT for a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, OCD, and chronic pain
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is used for patients with any substance use issues: nicotine, alcohol, etc.
Psychoeducation
I use this with all of my patients to ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment plans.

Krista first time meeting she made me feel very relaxed to discuss anything. Very direct in the way what i was telling her and how she just let you know she heard you and responded in a very understanding what she thought and let you know she will be there for. Maybe that was more solution oriented

Christa was very welcoming and she took the time to do a detailed and complete evaluation. I felt heard and despite my being nervous, christa understood everything I was trying to explain. I am confident that I have found a practioner who is kind and attentive that I can put my trust in for good care.
