Diana Budreika
I am faith-based, while also trauma-informed, warm and incorporate humor in sessions. I view each person as unique; I orient from a biopsychosocial approach, incorporating one’s genetic factors, current/ past environment, and lifestyle choices into the whole person. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is we are powerful beyond measure.” I help people recognize the light within and tools to shine through the ups and downs of life through incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy and a strengths-based approach. I was a Division I college athlete and pursued graduate studies in nutrition research and physical activity. These experiences shaped my interest in neuroscience, neuroplasticity, and our ability to develop new patterns of thinking, feeling, and responding to life's challenges.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
Strengths
"It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society." You are here and that is a courageous step. I view the therapeutic relationship to be collaborative. I will challenge you to reframe your thinking when needed. My passion is encouraging others, as everyone has music within and my goal is to pull that out of you to be shared with the world. As a social worker, I help the person ground (logistical guidance) while counseling and teaching skills to navigate life. I will lean into what you are wanting to discuss and build upon that with quietness and attentive listening. I am direct and unconventional in my approach.
Ideal clients
If you have made the courageous step to being open to counseling, I commend you. I will build trust and rapport to develop an environment of comfort where vulnerability is promoted. The key to self-growth is removing shame and embarrassment so that honesty can enter the room. I am trauma-informed and assist the client in creating new neural networks that encourage growth, truth, and confidence.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The beauty of the human brain is its ability for neuroplasticity- to adapt, learn, and re-network itself. While trauma is significant, the power of the resilience of the mind is why we can rewrite our story. Cognitive behavioral therapy changes beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors by learning the tools to rewire your brain.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
We each have parts, similar to a family system. These internal parts play roles such as forming alliances, working against one another, sabotaging, protecting, you get the gist. The goal of IFS is to help our inner parts to work together (integrated) as a whole self. I will guide you through somatic therapy and inner child healing to unify these parts and be your best self- confident, whole, calm, and in your highest timeline.
