New to Grow
Hi, my name is Asia. I have been working in the mental health field since 2016 and began my career as a substance use counselor before transitioning into clinical practice. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Neumann University in 2016 and my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2023, and I am now fully licensed. I primarily work with young adults, though I am open to working with adults 18 and older. I support clients navigating life transitions, self-doubt, communication challenges, and emotional stress. My goal is to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop greater confidence so they can feel more grounded, empowered, and capable in their daily lives.
In our first session, you can expect a relaxed and welcoming space where we focus on getting to know each other. I’ll review the information you shared in your intake, ask some questions to better understand your concerns, and invite you to share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to have everything figured out. We’ll also go over a few logistics, like confidentiality, session structure, and what therapy with me may look like. I’ll share a bit about my approach, and we’ll begin identifying what you’d like to work on and your goals for therapy. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the very start.
What stands out about my approach is my ability to create a safe, open, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, while also building practical coping skills. I take a flexible, client-centered approach, allowing sessions to flow based on your needs while still providing guidance and insight. I balance being supportive and approachable with offering education and tools to help you build confidence, gain clarity, and feel more in control of your life. I also bring a warm, engaging energy to sessions, making the process feel comfortable and approachable.
My ideal client is an adult experiencing life transitions such as moving from high school to college or from college into the workforce. They may feel overwhelmed by change, struggle with self-doubt, and experience persistent negative thoughts about themselves that impact their confidence and daily functioning. They often face challenges in communication and relationships, including difficulty expressing needs, setting boundaries, or navigating conflict with family, peers, or partners. Some may also be processing past trauma that continues to affect their current emotional well-being and patterns of thinking. My ideal client is open to self-exploration and willing to engage in the therapeutic process to build insight, develop healthier coping skills, and strengthen emotional regulation. Together, we work toward improving self-esteem, enhancing communication, and fostering a more balanced and empowered approach to navigating life transitions.

Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use a person-centered approach to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and I work collaboratively to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through empathy and guidance, I help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop a more balanced and authentic sense of self.
