Hi! My name is Ben Nguyen and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I have lived and worked around the Chicago-land area for my entire life. I received my undergraduate education from the University of Illinois in Chicago and graduate studies at Roosevelt University where I received Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling and Applied Psychology. I have been in the mental health and behavioral health field for a decade in various settings from public health, non-profits, hospitals, and correctional settings.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Just like most things in life; what you get from therapy is equivalent to the amount of effort you put in. It's important to know that therapy is not an easy road, free of pain and tears, but at the end of that road is a stronger person despite going through such turmoil. Let's take that first step together.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
My approach to therapy is exploring and amplifying personal strengths as well as developing a balance in life. No life is absent of struggles but struggles do not need to lead to suffering. I draw approaches from person-centered, humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and dialectical therapies. I utilize a personalized approach by incorporating different styles that will tailor to each individual person. My role is to provide support, guidance, education, and even advice but ultimately the change and progress is rested in the individual's hands.

I have worked in various settings with many people from all backgrounds and cultures. I come from the belief of respect and connection.
