Hi there! I'm Alexys. I am a licensed mental health counselor. My passion has always been to help others achieve a better quality of life. I now consider it a privilege and blessing to make it my life's work. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults with presentations, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, or simply adjusting to the ebbs and flows of life. I utilize a variety of interventions tailored to each individual's needs and personal goals in hopes of providing a safe space where healing from the inside out can take place. We all deserve to be heard and seen. I am happy to meet you exactly where you're at and be that person for you.
In our first session, we will get to know one another and get a thorough picture of the challenges you're facing in order to collaboratively create a plan and focus moving forward in treatment. You will leave the session with a few "actions to take right now" so that you are ready and can officially begin the process of working toward your personal goals. To best support you, I recommend contacting your primary care provider if you need documentation for work absences related to your mental health. I will not complete work absence/ leave paperwork.
I believe one of my biggest strengths is my innate empathy and genuine desire to help others. Building from these qualities, I have learned to help clients feel understood, supported, and encouraged to trust the process.
I have applied this treatment method with many clients of varying populations and presentations. Helping clients to become aware of how their thoughts connect with the way they feel and further act can empower and educate them to create change.
This treatment method is helpful in increasing the level of motivation a client presents with in a gentle and non-intrusive way. I have used this method by meeting the client where they are at in terms of motivation and helping them use resources already available to them to work towards motivation to change.
I have used this treatment method to help clients feel validated and heard. This method allows the therapist to empathize with the client in a way that empowers them to take the lead in their healing process.
This treatment method has been helpful in utilizing with clients who prefer more brief treatment focused on the "now" instead of spending time exploring and processing the past. This method uses the clients' current strengths to help them move forward in their goals.
