Welcome! I’m Marianne, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Taking the step to start therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or a bit scary all at once. Because of that, my top priority is to provide a warm, relaxed, and completely judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are. I want you to know that I have a lot of deep empathy for people going through hard times because I have been there myself. I get how heavy and overwhelming life can feel, and I know firsthand what it takes to find your way through the dark. You truly do not have to carry it all alone. I am right here for you. Whether you are navigating daily anxiety, processing grief, or working through acute trauma, we will navigate it as a collaborative team. I lean on proven, practical tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help you find real relief and feel more grounded. My goal is to always provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that moves at a pace that feels safe and right for you. I am here whenever you are ready to share—let's take that next step together.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is all about taking a deep breath and getting comfortable. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to dive into your deepest wounds right away. Think of this first hour as a relaxed, introductory conversation where we can get to know each other and see how we vibe. Here is exactly what we will do together: Create Safety: We will start by ensuring you feel completely secure, respected, and comfortable in our virtual space. Share Your Story: You can share what brings you to therapy right now and what has been feeling heavy, entirely at a pace that feels safe for you. Discuss Your Goals: We will talk about what you hope to get out of therapy and what "feeling better" actually looks like for you. Map a Path Forward: We will brainstorm a collaborative, flexible roadmap using practical tools that fit your unique life. You are the expert on your own life, and you get to steer the ship. My main goal for our first hour is that you leave feeling truly heard, deeply understood, and hopeful about the steps we will take together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I'm passionate about creating access for everyone in need of mental health services. If there is a financial barrier to receiving services, let me know and we can talk about it. In addition, I build rapport easily, making it simple to open up if you are feeling nervous or if you have a child who is hesitant about therapy (working with youth is my favorite!). I also know firsthand how heavy life can get, allowing me to understand your struggles without judgment. Factor in my personality, and you can plan on my bringing an uplifting, vibrant energy to sessions, proving that therapy can include laughter and joy even during hard times. I offer fully bilingual therapy in English and Spanish, ensuring culturally responsive care. Finally, due to years of school crisis intervention, I remain calm and steady during your hardest moments.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is anyone on a journey to discover who they can become. If you feel stuck in the past, or worry about the future, this is the place for you. There is something fun about working with children, I have a lot of experience doing that, but if I am able to help someone put their best foot forward, no matter how big or small of a step it is, that would be my perfect client. With that said, I lived in Guatemala for eighteen months, and I have worked with Native American, Islander, Caucasian, and Hispanic populations for over fourteen years. As a bilingual practitioner with Spanish fluency, I have a unique understanding of cultural components that impact these communities. Having dedicated years to school-based mental health, I am deeply passionate about guiding youth through acute crises, managing safety concerns, and helping them find stability. At the same time, my personal journey as a mother gives me firsthand insight into the unique, everyday struggles of parenting. Because of this, I am equally passionate about working with parents—whether that means equipping you with practical tools to support your child, or helping you heal and recharge so you can focus better on your vital parental role. Whether we are working through intense emotional distress, navigating behavioral challenges, or strengthening your family dynamics, my goal is to create a secure, welcoming environment where you feel fully seen and heard. Regardless of who you are, what background you come from, or what languages you speak, if you are ready to leave the past behind and find that bright future, I would love to make that therapeutic journey with you.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance Commitment Therapy is all about thinking about where you want to go, and then formulating how you're going to get there. Life presents us with a plethora of decisions, and it can be challenging to pick what to do next. Also, sometimes we are faced with "big feelings" that are uncomfortable, because they are big! Instead of pushing those feelings away, acknowledging how I am feeling in a less non-judgmental , and more accepting, way can help us put more energy into where we want to go, instead of spending all our time and energy on pushing away "bad feelings."

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is all about identifying how thoughts lead to feelings, feelings lead to actions, and actions lead to outcomes. This theory (called the "CBT Model") states that if you can change the thought, you can change the feeling, and by extension, the outcome. This method helps the client identifying negative thought patters, in an effort to decrease symptoms (e.g., depression, anxiety, etc.).

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is what I like to call "skills therapy." This approach utilizes a lot of strategies, incorporating things like communication skills, self-regulation skills, and mindfulness. The goal is to accept yourself, but also learn strategies you can use throughout life when working through the things that may cause trouble.

Grief Therapy

Grief is one of the most challenging experiences a person may go through, because it feels so final and permanent. Processing grief is often associated with the death of a loved one, and that is definitely one type of grief, but it can also include moving and leaving one's home or friends behind, receiving a medical diagnosis and feeling the loss of one's previously healthy life, and much more. Grief therapy is all about processing the emotions surrounding the client's experience, whatever that may be.

Trauma Informed Care

Do you have experiences that were so traumatizing, you can't remember what happened? Do you have a certain reaction to specific situations, and you don't understand where that reaction came from, or you know where it came from but you don't know how to get rid of said reaction? In lieu with Trauma Informed Care, I also do Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a newer version of EMDR. While some individuals have had traumatizing experiences doing EMDR, or felt like EMDR didn't work for them, many of these same people are able to process trauma using ART. It's less invasive, more client-driven, the results are faster, and it is a powerful tool when working through past experiences. My favorite thing about ART is you don't need to talk about what happened in order to re-process the event. You don't even have to remember, at a conscious level, what happened. Your brain has the power to heal from the past using ART. Most people respond favorable to ART in as little as one to six sessions! If it's specific (for example, test anxiety) we can reprocess and work on eliminating that anxiousness in one session. This therapy is incredible!
