My name is Elizabeth Swett, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I currently work in the hospital setting. When I started my professional career, I began working in the school setting by assisting children and families. Over my career I have provided both individual and group counseling services to various age groups covering an array of topics.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will conduct rapport building. We will start with brief introductions. I enjoy creating a safe and judgement free environments, so you will be able to share anything you would like. From there, we will discuss your goals for counseling. This will help us begin to tailor an effective treatment plan for our follow-up sessions. If you are interested in services but do not see available session times that work with your schedule, please let me know and I will see what I can do to accommodate you.

Working with various age groups, I have had the opportunity to help clients develop and implement effective treatment goals on an array of topics.

I love working with clients from all age groups. I especially enjoy working with clients who are going through life transitions or experiencing stressors. My clients have sought out counseling to help them overcome their situation/ emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve utilized CBT in practice to help my clients recognize how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. Then use that knowledge to challenge thoughts and understand emotions.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I've utilized Solution Focused Brief Treatment in practice by helping clients reach a specific goals or overcoming a particular problem.

Motivational Interviewing

I've utilized Motivational Interviewing in practice to help motivate clients with changing their behaviors. This is conducted by providing active listening skills, a supportive presence and guidance to assist clients in have the autonomy to make decisions/ create change.

Eclectic

I've have utilized an eclectic approach in practice by drawing from various theories and techniques. This means that I based my clinical approach on the individual needs of my clients.
