About me

Hi I’m Danyelle! I’m an LCSW (138632 ) located in the central valley of Northern California. I received my BA in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from the University of Portland in 2018 and my MSW from USC in 2023. I’ve worked in the mental health field for the past seven years and have experience treating individuals with a wide range of mental health and life struggles. My specialties include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life changes, and grief. Whether this is a new experience for you or you have been in therapy for years, I welcome anyone who is ready to work toward meaningful growth and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session with be a chance for me to get to know you, your goals, and history. We’ll talk about any problems, barriers, or changes that brought you to this point of meeting with me. This will be a space for you to start getting to know me and ask any questions you may have about my approach or the therapy process. While semi-structured, our first session will be a chance for us to start establishing a relationship, and together we can begin developing a plan that meets your needs and goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am an extremely compassionate, empathetic, and open minded person. In our sessions I will provide you a with a collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to be your true self. We will work together as you develop healthy and effective coping skills, embrace personal growth, and learn more about your behavior, thoughts, and emotions. I am very open and I take a very casual approach—it’s my goal to make our shared space as warm, welcoming, and safe as possible.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m here to work with individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling to understand their emotions, who are navigating life changes, or dealing with different kinds of grief. Whether you need short or long term support, if you are motivated, ready for growth, and open to being challenged, my goal is to support you in reaching your goals while you strengthen your connection with yourself.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I will work toward guiding you in understanding the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT can help treat conditions like anxiety and depression. Using CBT methods such as identifying and challenging negative thoughts and beliefs we can work toward changing your behavior.

Strength-Based

Drawing from strengths-based therapy, we will work toward focusing on your existing qualities, resilience, and inner resources. We recognize that problems and weaknesses exist, while working to not dwell or fixate on them. Some key elements of this method include identifying personal strengths and reframing challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a therapy modality that can help you manage intense emotions, handle stress, and improve relationships by balancing acceptance and change. We may incorporate aspects of core DBT skills (mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation) to address barriers such as intense emotions, stressful life events, and relationship issues.

Positive Psychology

Positive psychology in therapy focuses on building personal strengths, resilience, and overall well-being rather than only addressing mental health symptoms. Positive psychology can aid in helping you to identify strengths, practice gratitude, cultivating positive emotions, and finding deeper meaning in life.
