We are all deserving of being heard, valued, and living a fulfilling life. Yet, somewhere in history, in society, in our families, and within ourselves a different narrative may have been created--- a narrative that may be preventing you from recognizing your worth. As a result, you may have developed a pattern of not speaking your truth, overextending your boundaries, constantly questioning yourself, or any other behaviors that were once ways of surviving but no longer serve you. My goal is to identify such patterns with a sense of curiosity as we work towards shifting those behaviors. I look forward to supporting your therapy process.
Our first session will consist of understanding what brought you to therapy services at this moment in time.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) , where we focus on identifying underlying negative beliefs that may influence your thoughts/emotions/actions and work on creating more adaptive beliefs. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) which is a treatment model that focuses on processing through past experiences that may be impacting your mental health. Although I do not currently offer comprehensive DBT (individual, skills group, phone coaching), I integrate DBT components and skills throughout your individual sessions as needed and maintain a “yes, and” approach in therapy. Together we decide what treatment modality is the best fit for you and adjust each modality to meet your specific needs.
Therapy with me might be a good fit if you are having a hard time navigating a life change (recently graduated college, changing careers/entering a career, relationships), would like to process ways your past experiences impact your current mental health, or are ready to challenge negative self-beliefs and unhealthy patterns of coping.
I have experience working with adults to address depression, anxiety, and trauma-related concerns.
