I’m a husband and dad to three boys (ages 16, 13 and 8), and family is a huge part of my life. We live on a 20-acre homestead where we raise chickens, goats, pigs, and cows, and we spend a lot of time in the garden. Life on the farm keeps me grounded and reminds me daily of the value of patience, hard work, and slowing down to enjoy what really matters. Faith and community are also central for me. I’m actively involved in my church, and I see my work as an extension of that calling to walk alongside others. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak. Alongside my therapy work, I am starting a tech start-up, I’ve run an online store, and I even dabble in Bitcoin mining. I enjoy the challenge of building things from the ground up and thinking outside the box. I also read a lot, and my libertarian leanings have been shaped by writers like Murray Rothbard. The conservative/libertarian focus on freedom, personal responsibility and low time preference connects deeply with how I approach life and therapy: we’re at our best when we are free to live with responsibility in society, own our choices, and pursue truth apart from coercion. When it comes to therapy itself, I integrate my faith with practical, proven methods. I use Christian Counseling, CBT, Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the Gottman Method to help people grow emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. My goal is to give you a space where your values are respected, your faith is honored, and you feel equipped to face life’s challenges with hope and clarity. If you’re looking for a therapist who understands the importance of faith, family, freedom, and practical tools for change, I’d love to walk with you on your journey.

I am a Colorado and South Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with: individuals in the midst of grief and other major phase-of-life transitions like divorce, job loss, legal challenges, etc.; teenagers who are struggling with a variety of mental health challenges; couples and families that are struggling to find common ground; and fractured families prior to, during, and after divorce. Building strong families, even through divorce or custody battles, incarceration, or other prolonged periods of estrangement, is a particular area of focus for me. I offer reintegration therapy services for parents and children who have experienced short- and long-term separation or alienation. I love working with families who want to find a way to function better post-divorce. In addition, I spent a decade working for the Alzheimer's Association, which included counseling individuals and families who were facing a diagnosis of dementia. Prior to venturing into the counseling field, I ran a non-profit that operated a 100-bed homeless shelter, a family transitional housing program, and an eight-unit supportive housing project for Veterans. I have a heart for working with military veterans and their families -- having 22 years of service in the US Air Force myself. I served on Active Duty for 6 years, and after a break in service, completed another 16 years as a Reservist. My spouse served alongside me, with each of us deploying twice. Our son is currently serving as well. Therefore, I have been the deployed service member, the spouse left to manage things back home, and the mom watching her "baby" deploy to far-off places. There is almost no part of military service I do not understand through first-hand experience.

Since earning my Master's in Social Work in 2016, I've dedicated my career to supporting individuals through life's challenges. My journey has taken me from child protective services and a mental health hospital in Colorado, to working with individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction, and serving as a school social worker across all grade levels. Now, in Georgia, I balance my private practice with working as a clinician at a crisis center, helping those in mental health emergencies. You are the expert of your own life—your experiences, feelings, and thoughts are invaluable guides to your mental well-being. In my practice, I take a Whole Health approach to counseling, supporting you in a way that honors your unique needs. I believe that true change comes from nurturing every aspect of your life, including diet, exercise, sleep, and more. My goal is to help you unlock your potential and cultivate lasting growth, using your insights as the foundation. If you’re ready to invest in your mental wealth, I’m here to support you every step of the way. My path to becoming a mental health provider began with a deep curiosity about the human experience and a genuine desire to help others find meaning and healing in their lives. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how life’s challenges can impact our well-being, and I saw the profound difference that compassionate support can make. These early experiences inspired me to learn more about how we cope, grow, and ultimately thrive, even in the face of adversity. As I continued my education and personal growth, I became increasingly drawn to the field of mental health. I was captivated by the resilience and wisdom people bring to their healing journeys. I realized that being a provider would allow me to walk alongside others as they navigate their unique paths, offering guidance, encouragement, and evidence-based tools to support their goals. What truly motivates me is the belief that every person has the capacity for growth and transformation. I am honored to help create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make positive changes. My journey as a provider is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to whole-person care, and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to support others.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience helping people navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity questions. My style blends depth-oriented therapy — exploring the deeper patterns and stories that shape you — with practical, evidence-based tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I spent nine years on the Boulder Crisis Team, providing psychiatric evaluations in ERs, jails, and walk-in clinics, which taught me how to stay calm and effective in moments of distress. In our work together, we’ll use both insight and skills — helping you understand the roots of your struggle while learning concrete ways to regulate emotions, change unhelpful patterns, and create a more meaningful, resilient life.

Bienvenidas! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving clients in California and Colorado. Before I worked as a counselor I worked as a technical writer and software tester, and then as a caseworker in social services. I have also been a studio engineer with much work in audio and video editing and got to spend a year on the film festival circuit for a documentary I made about being an independent musician. All of those experiences I feel are helpful in working with clients from different backgrounds and perhaps in understanding that most of us want to find something meaningful in this life and often feel that we still don't know what our real calling.

Hi there, I'm Alicia. Are you feeling lost or stuck in some aspect of your life and finding it hard to move forward? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? With your permission, I help to hold the container for deeper exploration and healing. I am a trauma-focused therapist, certified in EMDR and trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. I’m originally from Southern California, the traditional homelands of the Tongva (Gabrielino) and Chumash peoples, and I’m now based in Colorado, on the ancestral lands of the Arapaho, Ute, and Cheyenne peoples. I offer virtual individual therapy to clients in both states. I believe that each of us possesses an internal source of wisdom that can be cultivated through psychotherapy, psychedelic medicines, meditation practices, yoga and other connecting practices that link the brain, body and spirit. My therapeutic approach is grounded in mindfulness, compassion, curiosity, and respect. I often draw from concepts rooted in Buddhist psychology and contemplative traditions. I frequently incorporate EMDR as an evidence-based method for working with both acute and developmental trauma, along with parts work (IFS). I am attentive to the impact of a person’s social, physical, and cultural environment, as well as systems of oppression. Clients describe my approach as warm, relational, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I cannot do the work for you, but I can help you along the way, and it is truly an honor and a joy for me.

Hi, my name is Janice Barrocas. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in counseling people who are losing good eyesight. I'll never forget the first time a client grappling with declining vision said she loved working with someone who "really gets me." She went on to describe how many therapists she'd tried over the years who did not understand the medical aspects and psychological issues present with an acquired disability. This is why I became a therapist. People who feel see, heard, and understood are are better able to adjust to vision loss, including career changes and tension in personal relationships. Would you benefit from a safe space to process the physical and social trauma related to losing independence and dealing with uncertainty about the future? Let's talk. I can't wait to hear from you!

If you are seeking long-term relief from anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, grief or loss, I will help you heal those emotional injuries that compound over a lifetime and make life lose its meaning. And I will empower you to heal the emotional pain that is preventing you from living your best life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to guiding individuals through life’s most difficult seasons while helping them discover strength, healing, and renewed purpose. My professional experience spans acute psychiatric care, correctional settings, medical hospitals, and community mental health, allowing me to support people with diverse backgrounds and complex needs. I specialize in trauma recovery, grief and bereavement, crisis stabilization, substance use-related concerns, and the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and grief therapy techniques. I also offer faith-based counseling for clients who want to integrate their spirituality into treatment, recognizing the powerful role faith can play in resilience and emotional wellness. I value the unique identity and lived experiences of every client and strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where honesty, vulnerability, and personal growth can occur. I believe that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. Together, we will explore what is getting in the way of the life you want and build practical skills and insights that support long-lasting change. Whether you are coping with trauma, managing overwhelming emotions, experiencing loss, or simply feeling stuck, I am here to walk alongside you as you move forward with hope and confidence. My goal is to empower you to reclaim your narrative, strengthen your mental health, and live a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by state rather than a city?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
