Hi, I’m Ana Maria Borrero, a double board-certified nurse practitioner in Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family Practice. With over 13 years in healthcare, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting people with anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction—and I truly love what I do. My path into psychiatry began at 16, after my parents were in a devastating car crash. I experienced the emotional aftermath—fear, grief, uncertainty—and realized how deeply we all need someone to listen, support, and guide us through healing. That experience forever shaped my commitment to mental health care. I earned my Master's degree with a dual focus in psychiatry and family practice from University of South Alabama. Since then, I’ve continued advancing my education and clinical training to provide compassionate, evidence-based care at the highest level. I’m licensed in Florida and North Carolina, and fluent in both English and Spanish. I provide personalized psychiatric care via telehealth— making it accessible, judgment-free, and grounded in real connection.
I leave a safe, open-minded space, non-judgmental and easy to talk to first interview where the person is open to share their needs and their struggles.
I have dealt with the depression after the death of my parents and struggled with anxiety and PTSD. I was able to overcome mental health challenges and want the same for my patients.
I am especially well-equipped to support individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—whether due to anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or life transitions. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but internally struggling with focus, motivation, emotional regulation, or chronic stress. I also work closely with individuals who have a history of trauma or long-standing patterns that impact their daily lives, relationships, and sense of self. My approach is particularly helpful for those who are seeking both clarity and practical tools—whether that means improving attention and productivity, stabilizing mood, or developing healthier coping strategies. The individuals I tend to work best with are those who are ready for change—even if they’re unsure where to start. You may be feeling frustrated with past treatments, looking for a more personalized approach, or simply wanting to better understand yourself. Together, we focus on building insight, resilience, and sustainable change. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more aligned with the life you want to live.

She’s amazing—she really listens, offers support, and creates a clear plan. I waited so long to finally see a specialist, and I couldn’t be happier.

I really enjoyed the fact she listen and then went in depth about prescriptions, asked questions and then came up with solutions I wasn’t even aware of I really appreciate how kind she was too.
