As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I take joy in managing and improving the lives of patients that suffers with a wide range of mental illness and psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder. My goal is to decrease the stigma on mental illness, decrease barriers to accessing mental health care, decrease the mental health crisis in our communities, and help individuals get back to the quality of life they deserve.
It is crucial for the client to establish a great rapport with me for a rewarding experience. We will discuss about symptoms and what brought them in, personal history, childhood, relationship, living situation. We will talk about client goals and expectations to understand their problem and how it affects them.
My greatest strength is no doubt my experience. I’ve been working in healthcare for over twenty years, with different type of clients. I can sense how people feel, and I am always ready to listen and understand, paying a lot of attention to details.
This is a talk therapy session, which helps patients to be aware of negative thinking and view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more positive way.
