New to Grow
Hello, I’m Amy Culbert, LMSW, CAADC passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to mental wellness. With a focus on compassionate care, I specialize in providing therapeutic guidance tailored to each client's unique needs. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, helping you navigate life's challenges and enhancing your overall wellbeing. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, or life transitions, I’m here to listen and assist you through every step of your path to recovery. I offer convenient telehealth services, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your home. Together, we can work towards a brighter, healthier future.
I believe every person has an inherent capacity to heal. In our work together, you are the expert on your own experience, and we co-create a treatment path that honors your authentic journey. With deep compassion, I support you using Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, and trauma-sensitive EMDR – even via telehealth. I trust in your inner wisdom and resilience, guiding you to embrace change and rediscover hope and healing every step of the way. During the first session, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and we will discuss what goals you would like to achieve in your treatment journey. By the end of the initial session, my goal is for you to feel comfortable, have any questions answered, and feel excitement about the possibilities of your future.
I honor your authentic journey—together, we nurture hope and healing. I specialize in trauma, anxiety issues, couples/families, and substance use disorders. Let's begin healing and finding your happiness again!
My ideal client is a person that has or is going through a difficult time (whether it has been childhood trauma or a current substance use issue etc.) and is motivated to get back to their happiness. I believe that when a person is motivated, we can overcome any barriers that are in the way of achieving that particular goal.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been trained for many years using this approach and use it often with my patients. The key techniques I incorporate are identifying, challenging, and reframing negative thought patterns and behaviors, focusing on practical problem-solving to improve emotions and functioning.
EMDR
I have been trained in EMDR since 2017 and have been using it since then with my trauma patients. EMDR sessions are structured therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity. It is highly effective PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
