I am Erika Williams-Walker and I am a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in Georgia. I attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for undergrad and Argosy University for my graduate studies. My early experience in the field was at a nonprofit for homeless women and children where I learned to work with women with substance abuse and trauma. From there, I have worked mostly in a community mental health setting as a manager. I have been in the field for over 18 years.
In our first session together, we will work to establish good rapport through the initial assessment phase as I learn more about you, gather historical data and better understand your reasons for seeking therapy. From there, we will develop treatment goals.
My greatest strength is my ability to immediately connect with my clients by meeting them where they are, asking thought provoking questions, encouraging them by focusing on their strengths and tailoring their therapy process based on their needs.
Erika Williams-Walker offers therapy covered by Medicaid - Peach State Health Plan and Peach State Health Plan (Managed Medicaid) in Georgia.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is my preferred method of treatment because it focuses on challenging thoughts and behaviors that are creating barriers in the Client's life.
