Hello there! I am a nurse practitioner who has worked in mental health for over 15 years and currently practices in Central Pennsylvania. My career began with crisis intervention and managing acute mental health emergencies. Expanding my scope, I later moved into case management, gaining a deep understanding of mental health conditions, the impact of the environment, and the importance of individualized care. My expertise evolved through roles in both inpatient and outpatient settings, enabling me to provide a holistic approach to mental health care. I believe in treating the individual, not just the situation. My approach is grounded in clinical expertise, empathy, and a commitment to patient well-being. I am dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and personalized care to support individuals through their journey.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The initial session is welcoming, comprehensive, and conducted in person. It tends to foster a deeper rapport and connection with the client. Subsequent appointments may be telehealth. During the first appointment, a detailed history is obtained, allowing for insight into the client's unique experiences and challenges. Goals may be identified, and potential interventions may be explored. The initial session lays the groundwork for a tailored journey towards mental health and wellness.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strengths include my ability to understand and empathize with the client's feelings and experiences. I communicate complex information effectively. My interactions are designed to be unbiased and respectful. I ensure privacy and confidentiality in all interactions. As a result of my experience, I can offer a range of suggestions and information to address various mental health concerns. I make it a point to discuss the client's expectations of me as their mental health provider, and I do all I can to exceed those expectations.

Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is a crucial therapeutic intervention in my practice, educating individuals about their mental health condition, symptoms, treatment options, and management strategies. This knowledge empowers individuals, reduces stigma, and promotes better coping strategies.
