It is common to experience overwhelming feelings, stress at work, or problems in relationships. Managing these issues alone and without support can be difficult. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 35 years of experience providing therapy to help people better understand themselves, regain a sense of control, and find alternative ways to cope with life’s challenges. I believe that conversations where there is curiosity about your experiences open up possibilities that can then be further explored. Together we can understand your difficulties in the context of your family experiences, life history, and current circumstances. From there, we can use this insight to work on a plan to take actions that achieve your goals.
We will develop a shared perspective of your struggles and jointly discover ways to manage your difficulties and make meaningful and lasting changes.
I consider my therapy style as eclectic, using techniques drawn from my experience using cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, family systems, and insight-oriented approaches. In our first meetings, I will collect information about your personal and family history. I will work with you to discover your own ideas about moving forward in life. I explore the meaning of your experiences and based on our shared understanding of your struggles, I offer insights and provide feedback.
