I am here to help you manage what you are struggling without judgement and only care to help you get relief. Experience with adolescent and adults who struggle with mental health and substance use. I also have years of trainings working with men struggling with anger/mood disorders. I have additional specialized training with adults/women struggle with ADHD as well as those struggling with trauma due to a medical condition. I am lgtbtqia+ allied and sex positive. Additionally, I work with adolescent and adults who suffer with Anxiety, depression, trauma, developmental issues, and phase/change of life.
The first session will focus on you as the client feeling comfortable and heard; while gathering necessary information so that we can work together to identify the best method of treatment to help YOU meet your goals. If necessary, I will also identify other providers/services that may be beneficial in your healing journey i.e. testing, medication management. But only if YOU feel comfortable. My goal is to make you feel relaxed and open in order the share with me your struggles. Furthermore, remember it is ok to express emotions in therapy no need to apologize when experiencing them that's what this space is for.
My background and 15 years of experience in the treatment adolescents and adult who struggle with phase of life issues, mood disorders, anxiety/trauma traumatic brain injury ADHD, substance abuse, sexual identity, and other areas of difficulties. I use a variety of techniques to help individuals manage symptoms and improve overall quality of life. Feedback I have gotten from clients about my strengths is making people feel comfortable, validated and heard. Helping them identify their own strengths and needs so they feel empowered during session, and when they leave. I believe that we should manage our mental health just as we would any other area of treatment in our lives. There is no reason for us to feel stigmatized or shame about seeking help and wanting to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. I hope I can be avenue of change or growth for you or your child.
Due to my 15 years of experience, I have worked with many diverse populations. I have learned to listen to my client and help them identify their needs/wants in order to become the best version of themselves. I am a warm, developing a rapport where people feel safe discussing uncomfortable and traumatizing events/feelings in order for individual success. I create an accepting environment full of non-judgment that focuses on what the client goals are in therapy. My goal is to help clients be the version of themselves they wish to become in order for them to thrive; not change them into who I think they should become.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a cognitive behavioral based therapist, my kind and open approach allows clients to confide in me so I can help them identify troubling situations and conditions in their lives as well as become more aware of their thoughts and ability to change them. My CBT approach helps individuals gain autonomy and progress in managing their mental health.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
the goal of mindfulness-based therapy is to help individuals create a strong mind body connection in order to help those struggling with mental health issue to improve overall functioning in day-to-day activities.
Trauma Informed Care
My approach helps client develop a comprehensive and complete picture of their own struggles by connecting both the past and present experiences that allow clients to reach success in managing their symptoms.
Attachment-based
This treatment helps people overcome the adult perceptions and behaviors that resulted from their own childhood experience and how they can make changes in their lives to develop a healthier approach to managing not only their interpersonal relationship but the understanding of themselves.
